USCIS announced the upcoming launch of a package of improvements for the H-1B cap season. In February 2024, USCIS will launch online organizational accounts and make Form I-129, Petition for a Nonimmigrant worker available for online filing for H-1B petitions for fiscal year (FY) 2025. This means that Petitioners will soon be able to file H-1B petitions online and not only be restricted to H-1B registrations.
What you Need to Know
The introduction of organizational accounts will allow multiple individuals within an organization, such as a company or other business entity, and their legal representatives to collaborate on and prepare H-1B registrations, Form I-129, for nonimmigrant worker, and associated Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service. The goal of USCIS is to make the entire process electronic.
All legal representative account holders and all organizations with an H-1B registrant account, as well as new users, will experience new account enhancements, including improved design and case management features. H-1B Petitioners will be able to file Forms I-129 and associated Form I-907 premium processing requests online through their organizational account, have a legal representative file online on their behalf, or file a paper-based Form I-129. Please note that the H-1B registration process continues to be only available online.
USCIS will also transition the paper filing location for Forms I-129 and I-907 from service centers to the USCIS lockbox as part of their efforts to increase efficiency by standardizing processes and reducing costs.
